תָּחַל

תָּחַלHif. הִתְחִיל (denom. of תְּחִלָּה) to begin. Sabb.I, 2 ואם הִתְחִילוּוכ׳ but if they have commenced (doing so), they need not discontinue. Gen. R. s. 85 כל מי שהוא מַתְחִיל במצוחוכ׳ he that begins a good deed and does not finish it ; Deut. R. s. 8. Ib. משהה׳וכ׳ Moses began a good deed when he took Josephs bones with him. Gen.
